The village of Beladice
is located in the Nitra region, the region known for its history
going as far back as the Stone Age. The mountain range embracing
the village is called Tribec
and it is a wild life preserve, lying only 6 km away. It is an
attractive place for walking tours.
The
regional capital Nitra, an old
historical town, is 18 km away (82 661 inhabitants). It is an
important economic centre (also the seat of two universities and
the centre of agricultural education and research).
Nitra is a city full of economic and cultural life. Nitra has an International Theatre Festival - Theatrical Nitra, Nitra Musical Spring, international agricultural exhibition called Agrokomplex. A Motor show, Mechanical Engineering Fair and other exhibitions are held on the Agrokomplex exhibition grounds every year. Nitra is rich in historical monuments, museums, galleries, theatres, kinds of entertainment or tourism, it has got a swimming pool, sports grounds...
The
village of Jelenec
(5 km), except for walking tours to the Tríbec mountain
range and ruins of a Gothic castle Gymes from the 13th
century, offers rowing on a water reservoir and fishing
in a fish pond. In the vicinity of Jelenec you can visit
an artificially established edible chestnut stand in
Slovakia. It is almost 500 years old and this is its
northernmost border of occurrence.
In
the neighbouring village of Tesarske
Mlynany (4 km) there is an arboretum, one of
the most beautiful and richest in the Central Europe. It
is formed of four parts (European, Japanese, Chinese and
American) and on the acreage of 67 ha more than 2000 of
foreign woody plant species grow.
Topolcianky
(20 km) can offer a number of touristic attractions - a
walk in an English park with rare foreign woody species
and where a national breeding stud is placed together
with a race-course and park course and if you wish you
can go for a ride. At the beginning of the 19th century
a classicistic manor-house was built there, at present
its is housing the Museum of historical furniture. Near
the village of Zlatno
there is a game preserve with a bison yard in which
several tens of the Mountain Bison live on an area of
about 30 ha.
