gallery of ceramics » introduction
On Friday, 31st of August 2007, in the Park Hotel Tartuf, there was a ceremonial opening of the Natural gallery of art ceramics. Gallery represents the results of the international ceramics workshops which have taken place here since 1999. Altogether there were eight ceramic workshops attended by 52 artists from 22 countries of the world.

Katsunori Nakashima (Japan) – Windy amphoras, 2006 You can become familiarized with the ceramics created on the workshops in Beladice in the neo-classical Manor house as well as in the Park Hotel Tartuf, where the pieces of art are located not only in the interior but also in the adjacent park. Towards the end of the summer the park has transformed itself into the Natural gallery unique within Slovakia. Similar permanent presentation of the ceramic pieces of art in the historical buildings is not held anywhere else.

The opening of the gallery was realised with the financial assistance of Ministry of Culture of Slovak republic, Nitra - self governing region and The City of Nitra. Currently this gallery is open to the public - not only to the hotel guest but also to all visitors of manor house as well as tourists. In the beautiful surrounding, they have the possibility to see impressive pieces of art originated in the hands of well known international ceramists and sculptors.

llja Holesovsky, academic sculptor, co-organiser and annual participant of workshops, August 2007:
llja Holesovsky (Slovakia) – 7 (lying), 2006 "CERAMICS takes a lot of forms, various shapes, and it has not only an aesthetic value, but also a utility one. Ceramics has become a part of the mankind millennial history not only as a useful work of art, but also as an ornament reflecting both human needs and desires.
During the past years, in the surroundings of Pusty Chotar Manor House, seven ceramic workshops were held with almost 50 leading ceramists from all around the world participating. The pieces of art, created by them, have gradually replaced the partially missing authentic decoration of the neo-classical manor house - a National Cultural Monument - which was not successfully preserved or it was either stolen or destroyed. Thanks to the ceramists' inborn feeling for art, and together with their efforts and hard work, this place has gained a new identity and unique atmosphere penetrated with the contemporary ceramic worlds trends. Underwent restoration of the manor house and its modern extension to the purposive facilities have resulted in a creation of a new complex where the ceramists from all around the world are inviting you to indulge yourself into the beauty of a unique natural gallery of ceramics nestled in the park of the manor house."

PhDr. Peter Jurkovic, curator of the Opening of the Natural gallery, August 31, 2007:
"While installing the pieces of art in the exterior, we are cultivating the surrounding - this is the main attempt of all artists and curators of the exhibitions. Not only the architecture can be the holder of the art. Thanks to the knowledgeable owner of the Manor house in Beladice the new tradition is emerging - this park can be proud of amazing worldwide art - the art which is in its essence equally firm and stable, both resistant and brittle. This Natural gallery represents logical culmination of a long time support concerning ceramic works that was created here and therefore this is the right place for its installation."
